The African Travelling Teacher (TATT) is proud to announce a new partnership with Finnish education technology companies Mobie Oy and Opinsys Oy to expand access to meaningful, locally relevant digital learning opportunities for schools and educators across Africa.
This partnership is rooted in a shared belief: African teachers and schools should not simply consume educational technology; they should shape, create, and lead how it is used within their own communities.
Together, we are building a collaborative learning ecosystem that combines teacher creativity, culturally relevant education, and accessible technology to support schools in underserved communities.
Launching the TATT Mobie Africa Learning Platform

As part of this collaboration, a new digital learning environment has been launched:
TATT Mobie Africa LXP
https://tatt.mobieafrica.com/lms/
The platform creates a shared online space where African schools, educators, and learning communities can:
- create and share local learning content,
- support blended and distance learning,
- collaborate across schools and countries,
- access AI-assisted learning tools,
- develop teacher-led innovation projects,
- and strengthen culturally relevant education.
The platform is designed to support both connected and low-connectivity learning environments, recognizing the realities many African schools face.
Technology Must Work for Communities

At TATT, we believe that sustainable education transformation begins with teachers and communities.
Over the years, our work has focused on connecting schools, supporting teacher development, promoting project-based learning, and helping learners engage with real-world challenges through creativity, culture, and technology. From cultural exchange projects between Uganda and Beijing to offline learning initiatives using Kolibri, we have seen how meaningful collaboration can inspire learners and teachers alike.
This new partnership builds on that journey.
Mobie Oy brings expertise in AI-assisted learning environments through the OnEdu AI platform, while Opinsys contributes practical experience in school digitalization, devices, and technology infrastructure.
By combining these strengths with TATT’s network of educators and deep understanding of local learning contexts, the partnership aims to support schools in ways that are practical, collaborative, and sustainable.
Supporting Teacher-Led Innovation
The partnership aligns closely with TATT’s mission to network African teachers and inspire innovative, community-centered learning across the continent.
We believe teachers are not merely implementers of change; they are creators, mentors, storytellers, and innovators capable of transforming their communities when given the right support and opportunities.
Through the platform, teachers will be able to:
- design and publish their own courses,
- collaborate with peers across borders,
- document local knowledge and cultural practices,
- support learners through project-based learning,
- and access digital tools that strengthen teaching and creativity.
Beginning with Local Partnerships
One of the first institutions joining the network is the Virunga Institute of Tourism and Technology, a vocational training center in southwestern Uganda focused on tourism, hospitality, and conservation education.
The partnership will continue onboarding schools and learning communities interested in collaborative digital learning models that reflect local realities and aspirations.
Looking Ahead
This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term effort to strengthen educational collaboration across Africa through teacher empowerment, storytelling, creativity, and accessible technology.
As TATT continues travelling across the continent, working alongside educators and learners, we hope this platform becomes more than a digital tool, a growing network of schools and communities learning from one another and shaping the future of African education together.
Meet Us at eLearning Africa 2026
