eLearning Africa 2025 – Session Recap

Francis Bizoza Bigirimana, widely known as The African Travelling Teacher, was a featured speaker at eLearning Africa 2025, Africa’s premier conference on digital learning and education innovation.

He participated in the session titled “Equity & Access in Teachers’ Professional Development” (Session Code: TEA52), which explored inclusive strategies to reduce digital inequality and strengthen teacher capacity in underserved communities. Francis shared how The African Travelling Teacher initiative has been leveraging offline-first digital tools and road-based outreach to empower educators and expand access to modern, relevant education across Africa.

The session was chaired by Birgit Nevala (Finnpartnership, Finland) and featured contributions from experts in South Africa, Belgium, and beyond, highlighting practical models of virtual collaboration, peer learning, and community-based training.
